NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR AT COPENHAGEN CAPACITY

Claus Lønborg comes from a position as Executive Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Innovation Center in Shanghai.

- Claus Lønborg will continue Copenhagen Capacity’s strident efforts to attract foreign labour and investment to the Capital region. Competition is constantly on the increase, which is why the role of Copenhagen Capacity is more important than ever, says Chairman of the Board, Peter Højland, before adding:

- Copenhagen Capacity has achieved significant results over the past few years and with his significant experience and contacts, Claus Lønborg can ensure that this progress will continue.

As the capital’s official inward investment promotion agency, Copenhagen Capacity has had increasing success in attracting employment and companies to the region, even in this time of global crisis. In 2010 alone, the organisation created more than 1000 jobs.

Claus Lønborg has the following to say about his new position:

- Denmark is facing some significant challenges from its international competitors over the next few years in its efforts to attract investment and companies. I can use my experience of foreign and domestic affairs in this particular job, and I’m looking forward to becoming a part of Copenhagen Capacity’s excellent team.

Claus Lønborg will take up his position as soon as possible. He will replace Steen Donner who has decided to seek new challenges as Managing Director for Scion DTU A/S.  

About Claus Lønborg: Claus is 42 years old and gained his Master’s degree in economics and business administration (Cand. Merc) in 1995. Prior to joining Copenhagen Capacity he was Marketing Director for IBM Denmark and worked for Rockwood International and MD Foods. Claus is married and has four children.
