NOVO NORDISK PRESENTS SPECTACULAR HALF-YEAR RESULT

Each time Novo Nordisk sells for DKK 100, one third is pure profits. The ability to increase the profit ratio continues for the Danish pharmaceutical giant, who reached a profit ratio of 33.7 per cent this year after raising it to 29.9 per cent last year.
Optimization and cost-cutting have been key tools along with the new product Victoza. Novo’s half-year result hit DKK 10.6 billion.
CEO Lars Rebien Sørensen is pleased with the development.
- We are satisfied with the half-year result and the 11 per cent growth in sales, which is also why we have raised our expectations for the rest of the year.
In Maj 2011, Novo Nordisk had a global market share 51 per cent on insulin.
