CULTURE AND ATTRACTIONS
Besides the many recreational activity opportunities, Gribskov municipality is characterized by having a wide range of other experiences with exciting attractions, cultural activities and events all year round.
Various sights and attractions
The attractions include Esrum Monastery & Møllegaard, Tegners Museum, The Horse Carriage Museum, Munkeruphus, Nakkehoved Lighthouse Museum, The Bird Park and Nordsjællands summer park are always worth a visit. Gilleleje harbour, which is Zealand's largest active fishing port, is a major attraction, especially many tourists including sailing enthusiasts are visiting the harbour all the year.
Gilleleje harbour closes the fishermen’s Fillet factory during the summertime. The Fillet factory is then used for art exhibitions and musical events during the month of July.
Gribskov municipality has always attracted many artists, particularly painters. The reason why many artists live in the municipality is among other things the special light at the 40 kilometers coast line. All year round various exhibitions are shown in the Culture centre in Helsinge and in the pyramid in Gilleleje as well as in many other places in the municipality.
Annually recurring events include the Veterans meeting to be held in Græsted, The Hill and Harbour Fest in Gilleleje, Jazz at the harbour of Gilleleje, flea market and Folk Festival in Tisvildeleje and Culture night in Gilleleje as well as Helsinge.
In addition, ongoing events are held that in recent years have included sand sculpture festivals, dance festivals and many concerts, among others held in the Culture Hall in Helsinge.
