Business and science parks
Three major business parks offer excellent location possibilities.
The business area of Ravnsholm is attractively located adjacent to the EU-designated natural habitat and preserved scenic area of Mølleådal. Formerly an industrial area, it has recently been developed into a modern business park that now hosts large businesses with the focus on research, office space and production. IBM and Topsoe are situated here. Nearby Ravnsholm train station ensures easy access by public transport.
Like Ravnsholm, Lundtofte Business Park is a converted industrial area which hosts major companies such as Hempel and Brøste. With easy access to the Elsinore motorway, Lundtofte Business Park is an obvious choice for distribution companies. Adjacent to the Technical University of Denmark, Lundtofte is also home to production companies and offices. Lundtofte is situated 1½ kilometres from Ravnsholm train station and is also easily accessible by bus.
Firskovvej Business Park is located close to three train stations, major regional roads and the regional retail centre. Firskovvej is privileged to neighbour the preserved scenic area of Ermelundskilen. This area, located between the popular Dyrehaven park and forest and the waters of the Øresund, has some of the most scenic landscapes in the region. The area is dominated by the timber trade and car dealerships, although head offices have also sprung up in this attractive area. Among the latter are Bayer, Johannes Fog and financial giant BRF Kredit.
Denmark's largest university-based science park, Scion-DTU, is also based in Lyngby-Taarbæk.
Situated on campus at the Technical University of Denmark, Scion-DTU offers growth potential within a research-intensive university environment. Scion-DTU's comprehensive facilities will support any phase of a company's progress, but is particularly helpful in a company's start-up phase. The interaction between the academic and business environments is crucial to the inspiring atmosphere at Scion-DTU. The Technical University of Denmark enjoys a strong international position and is a world leader in several disciplines. For companies located in Scion-DTU, it would be an obvious idea to allow some of the 6,000 students attending the Technical University of Denmark to participate in projects and thereby establish close relations with the university.
